BetMGM and Marriott Raise Stakes With World Cup Travel Promotion
BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy are giving sports bettors a new reason to pay attention to the 2026 World Cup buildup. The two brands have launched a sweepstakes tied to a July event series, with trips to New York City, VIP access, bonus bets, and Marriott points all on the table for eligible players.
The promotion runs through June 21, 2026, and is centered on linked loyalty. Eligible BetMGM users who connect their BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts, then place at least one $10 wager, can enter through the BetMGM Sportsbook app or website.
BetMGM and Marriott Put a World Cup Trip Within Reach
At the center of the promotion is access to Sports Illustrated’s “Beyond the Pitch” Party series, which wraps up in New York City on July 18. Ten grand prize winners, each allowed to bring a guest, will receive VIP event access along with round-trip travel to NYC or travel funds, a three-night stay at Moxy Lower East Side, and dinner at L’Artusi Supper Club.
That headline prize gives BetMGM a travel-and-experiences angle at a time when sportsbooks are competing on more than odds boosts and bonus bets. The company has increasingly leaned into entertainment partnerships, and this latest offer fits that broader strategy.
Thirty additional participants will receive a $100 bonus bet. Every entrant who earns at least one valid entry will also get 2,500 Marriott Bonvoy points, adding a guaranteed loyalty reward even for players who do not land one of the bigger prizes.
How to Enter Before the June 21 Deadline
The sweepstakes is open to eligible BetMGM users who complete two basic steps. First, they must link their BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts. Second, they must place a minimum $10 wager and submit their entry through the sportsbook platform.
There is a cap of 25 entries per entry period, and winners are selected weekly throughout the promotion. That setup gives players multiple chances to get noticed before the June 21, 2026, cutoff, without turning the promotion into an unlimited-entry race.
Players interested in the brand can also compare this promotion with the broader offers tied to BetMGM Casino, although this World Cup sweepstakes is specifically tied to sportsbook participation and account linking.
Why This Promotion Matters Ahead of the 2026 World Cup
The timing is not accidental. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to be one of the biggest betting events the US market has seen, helped by a larger tournament format and friendlier viewing windows for American audiences.
Deutsche Bank has projected US sports betting handle on the tournament at $3.3 billion, with a range between $2.5 billion and $4.1 billion. In that forecast, FanDuel leads with an estimated $1.3 billion, DraftKings follows at $1.1 billion, and BetMGM is projected at around $250 million.
This World Cup will feature 104 matches, up from 64 in 2022, creating a much bigger schedule for sportsbooks to market around. It also arrives when roughly 135 million US adults have access to legal online sports betting, up from 104 million during the last World Cup cycle.
For operators, that means more games, more legal reach, and more chances to stand out before the first marquee match even kicks off.
BetMGM Says Exclusive Experiences Are the Real Prize
BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost framed the campaign as part of the company’s push to offer access, not just wagers.
“At BetMGM, we’re always looking for ways to reward our players with legendary experiences they simply can’t get anywhere else. Partnering with Marriott Bonvoy for this event allows us to bring fans inside the velvet ropes during a once-in-a-generation moment on the global sports stage,” Prevost said.
That language lines up with how BetMGM has been positioning itself in recent months. The company has signaled that it wants to be seen as an entertainment business with a sportsbook attached, rather than a sportsbook that occasionally runs lifestyle promotions.
A Bigger Brand Play Beyond Betting Odds
The Marriott Bonvoy sweepstakes is only one piece of that effort. BetMGM has also expanded its gaming and media footprint through a Bragg Gaming slot content deal and a branded appearance on CBS’s “The Price Is Right,” where “The Lion’s Share” is set to debut on September 22.
Those moves matter because the US sports betting market is crowded, and nearly every major sportsbook offers parlays, moneylines, spreads, and over/under markets on tentpole events. What can separate one operator from another is often the surrounding experience, whether that means hospitality perks, exclusive events, or broader entertainment partnerships.
For BetMGM, the World Cup travel promotion is a way to connect betting, loyalty, and live-event access in one campaign. With the tournament expected to attract billions in handle and a massive US audience, the company is trying to get in front of that wave early, and with a prize package that goes well beyond a standard sportsbook promo.
